Making sustainable lifestyle choices never tasted so good! Think food, fitness, and nightlife — tied together with veganist values. Vegans of Beijing (VoB) hosts weekly meetups, intimate dinner get-togethers, vegan film nights, dietary discussion panels — plus a handful of large-scale events, too — like vegan-themed festivals or community-wide diet-challenges — all for the vibrant and supportive vegans living in Beijing.

Of course, you’re wondering what’s on the menu! You guessed it — VoB activities offer a delightful selection of vegan foods! Try these on for size:

  • Miso onion soup with crostini and cheese
  • Pumpkin gnocchi with chorizo sauce
  • Apple and fennel salad and granita
  • Chocolate pecan tart with bubble tea creme

Just a few eco-concious appetizers to get your mouth watering. You’ll have to make it out to one of VoB’s events for main course!

Mission 🙏

If you ask someone why they went vegan in the first place, they probably mentioned one of these three main reasons — for the environment, for the animals, for their own health.

In a world where one-third of all food goes to waste, where global meat production is increasing at an alarming rate, and where modern agriculture and logistics make a plant-based diet accessible — yeah — it’s time for more people to learn about the vegan lifestyle.

Vegans of Beijing (VoB) is a volunteer-led network dedicated to promoting a plant-based lifestyle in Beijing. At over a thousand members strong, VoB works with local Beijing restaurants to negotiate for more vegan options — increasing awareness and demand for vegan-friendly foods and products.

VoB wants the world know — it’s possible to eat a diverse range of delicious foods that do not come from animals.

It’s 2020. Being vegan doesn’t mean eating salad and rice everyday — yes, even in Beijing! In fact, these days you can eat everything you are used to eating, just the vegan version!

On a mission to make the vegan lifestyle in Beijing as easy as possible, VoB is building a supportive community of vegan practitioners and advocates — really nice people who share tips and show each other where to find great local food. Of course, they welcome newbies and people just curious about veganism — and are happy to provide vegan-friendly knowledge and support.

VoB believes being vegan is all about living a lifestyle that does the least possible harm to our planet and the animals we share it with.
